Classic Ray Stevens.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I love that song. So witty. :)
ReplyDeleteActually Guy Lombardo did it long before Ray Stevens. But I think in that version, two men both marry the other one's daughter.
ReplyDeleteClassic, whichever version it is.
Someone needs to tweak it a bit to keep up with the times so that the male singer can be his own grandma. Heh.
ReplyDeleteIn Massachusetts a man can't marry his mother, but nothing is forbidden by law saying he can't marry his father.
ReplyDeleteIf my state wants to redefine marriage, then let's completely revised the general laws on domestic relations. Not add this here, and patch it up there.
There are certain laws that specifically protect women, as wives. For example there are laws states I may negotiate my own contracts and my wages are designated under my own TIN/account. A very important law, but there is no reciprocity stating the same for my husband?
There are even laws that still refer not to 'married couples', but instead as "husband and wife".
