  1. You beat me to it.

I'm so thoroughly disgusted. What is it with Ryan Seacrest and the shows he puts on the air? Shows where people who are famous for no other reason than having a sex tap that "somehow" got leaked go to clubs and act like idiots?

Marriage neutering advocates are the most organized marriage attackers, to be sure, but there are so many other seious threats to marriage, not the least of which are these ill-advised fiascoes. I don't think they finished airing the multi-part wedding episodes yet, have they? Or did she at least wait for that?

Fornicating, shacking up, pushing out and "raising" babies out of wedlock used to be shamed, not people run to the nearest camera to tell the world about it, with no shame. Yes, fornication is nothing new, but people used to be discreet about it.

The divorces and affairs and shack ups and stunt weddings of some of the Hollywood bunch is just so nauseating.

What happened to taking sex and marriage seriously? What happened to being careful and wise about getting married, and honoring vows?

Now it is all about some narcissistic series of parties and a white (give me a break!!!) dress. Disgusting.

Throw yourselves parties. Just please stop calling what you're doing a "wedding" and "marriage". You are making a mockery of something so very important to the thriving of humanity.

  3. It was her second marriage BTW, too. Too bad she didn't learn anything.

  4. I really wish someone in California (or anywhere else) would just have the courage to say it: that Hollywood has ZERO credibility when it comes to marriage and thus it is laughable for so many in the entertainment field to talk as if they know best how marriage should be redefined.

Hollywood has far less credibility on issues related to marriage than do Republican politicians, or the "Red States", which so many like to single out for "hypocrisy" on the issue.

If Prop 8 goes before the voters again, let's hope someone points this out and strongly as we see Hollywood celebrity after celebrity going before the cameras to plead for neutering marriage. And yes, this applies just as much to long-and-happily-married celebs who are advocating it because they have so many friends who believe that marriage is just what anyone wants it to be.

I guess, though, that it's seen as so much worse to be a "hypocrite" than to advocate that the whole country just follow your example, even when the example for your group is such an obvious disaster. People need to be asked if they really want all of America to follow the lead of Hollywood where marriage is concerned. Of course, many of our problems are because it's already started doing that, but that's not an argument for making it worse.

  5. TV viewing through channel surfing is a very passive activity. The only reason for subscription services is for sports, everything else is really mush. I scroll through my parents 800 channels, and how many are 'adult entertainment'. Yes, you have to pay-per-view', but you can still read the disturbing description. If you're not a big sports fan, many people don't bother with subscription services. People wouldn't choose to watch Jersey Shore or what not but an active choosing to.

  6. Now this couple or their families didn't pay for their wedding, not even the engagement ring!!!

To them it might of been all pretend play in their eyes.
