But when you talk to them about the details: about fatherless and motherless children, about "legal parent" status, about reproductive rights and artificial reproduction, you quickly find that many gay actists have absolutely no respect for traditional notions of what we mean by Family, and the specific actions they support attack those notions at their very core.
It's almost as if they want to destroy the family.
Not that they'd ever admit it.
The case of Michael's Jackson's children will shine a spotlight on the ethics family formation and conception rights. Did Debby Rowe sell her womb and children to Micheal Jackson? Is the father Micheal Jackson's or the doctor who is supposedly the sperm donor (or perhaps lover). Was the marriage ever consummated? Does the presumption of paternity rule make sense in that case? It is interesting that Robert Johnson's illegitimate son took his case to the Supreme Court and won inheritance rights for biological children, as a right to equal protection regardless of the legal status of the parents, and regardless of being raised by the parents, but based on biological fatherhood. Should equal protection also protect rich children that find out they aren't biological children? I think that's probably settled law that they aren't cut out of the will anymore, or is it?
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be great if it came up in the Sotomayor hearings?
The influence of Marxist feminists on the "marriage equality" movement should be noted.
ReplyDeleteJennifer Roback Morse has dug up Frederick Engels' views of marriage:
"Within the family, the husband is the bourgeois, and the wife represents the proletariat. ... The first condition for the liberation of the wife is to bring the whole female sex back into public industry. This in turn demands that the characteristic of the monogamous family as the economic unit of society be abolished."

One can abolish outright, or one can abolish by redefinition.
While perhaps most people who accept pseudogamy aren't Marxist feminists, the malign influence of Marxism and its historical mutations is more acceptable among the issue's leading proponents.
What about this quote from OUT magazine from 15 years ago. Homosexual activists were told "to fight for same-sex marriage and its benefits, and then, once granted, redefine the institution of marriage completely...to debunk a myth and radically alter an archaic institution....The most subversive action lesbians and gay men can undertake...is to transform the notion of 'family' entirely."
ReplyDeleteHidden under the rocks of gay activism are the true dirty tactics that acknowledge that these folks are out to radically alter families.
btw, here is a good write up on the Robert Johnson case. And here is the wiki on Billie Jean, which is also very relevant to the issues of family and paternity and inheritance and conception rights.
